Chaparral – Tolima

  • The Agropecuaria Los Andes Corporation (Coagroandes) is an organization comprised of 40 producers from the municipality of Chaparral, Tolima. Since the signing of the peace agreement in 2017, it has emerged as a leader in fostering a reconciliation process, particularly for ex-combatants, providing opportunities for improvement and inclusion.

  • Their commitment to reconciliation and social inclusion has been pivotal for the corporation. They have dedicated themselves to building a solid and peaceful social fabric in the community, focusing on socio-economic development through sustainable coffee production and other agricultural, beekeeping, and tourism activities.

  • Coagroandes' mission goes beyond merely integrating diverse stakeholders into their initiatives. They strive to be a beacon of hope in a post-conflict context, where every individual finds a space for opportunity and growth. The active participation of the community, including victim associates and peace signatories, is deeply valued in laying the foundations for a prosperous and cohesive future in the territory.

Presently, Coagroandes takes pride in being part of the "Natural Paz" project aimed at mitigating global warming. This initiative, executed by the National Coffee Board (FEMNCAFE) and funded by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), aims to promote peace and sustainable development in rural areas of Colombia, where coffee plays a fundamental role in the local economy.

Through their involvement in this project, they seek to foster a generation of opportunities in their territory, where every individual has the chance to contribute to the growth and development of the community.
